Working with CloudWatch Alarms
- We would creating mail notification alarm to get notified whenever there’s a CPU of more than 60%
- So let’s run some stress on EC2 Instance created for this Lab series
stress -c 70
- Now go to CloudWatch > Alarms > Create Alarm

- Select metric

- Select EC2

- Per-instance Metrics

- Input tthe instance Id & CPU utilization metric

- Input the alarm name and description
And alarm should trigger whenever the utilization is more then 60%

- Actions is notification, here are configuring a SNS topic for getting notified via mail
Input the topic name as “CPU_Alert” & input the mail id on which you want alerts to be delivered to

- Here’s your alarm created, whenever the CPU utilization is more than 60% cloudwatch alarm should be triggered and you should a mail
If stress is working you get an email is sometime
