A company has the following two virtual machines defined in Azure.

Name Operating System Type Tier Region
whizlabvm1 Windows Server 2016 Datacenter B4ms Standard East US
whizlabvm2 Ubuntu 16.04-DAILY-LTS A0 Basic West US

The company wants to encrypt Azure disk which is unmanaged on both virtual machines and deploy an Azure Key Vault for this purpose.

Which of the following two options needs to be done on whizlabvm2 to enable Azure disk encryption? Select two options.

A. Change the underlying operating system version.
B. Change the tier.
C. Change the type.
D. Change the region.

Answer – B, C

Encryption of unmanaged Disk is not possible,

1. if the size of VM is  “Basic” Tier.

2. if the VM type is of “A-Series”.

3. on virtual machines that do not meet these minimum memory requirements.

By default, all managed disk support encryption.

Question is specifically saying: Unmanaged disk and the tier of size of VM “whizlabvm2 are “Basic”. Hence we need to upgrade the tier of VM’s size from Basic to Standard.

Since this is clearly mentioned in the Microsoft documentation, all other options are incorrect.
