A practical scenario of EBS and Snapshot
- In past few Labs, we created a Windows based EC2 (WinVM1) instance then attached a new EBS volume (WinVM1-D) to it and created some txt in that volume. We also created snapshot of D drive and then created a volume namely WinVM2-D
- Now, create one more Windows-based EC2 instance ideally with same AMI as of 1st Windows instance in us-east-1a zone and label it as WinVM2, don’t forgot to name C drive of this EC2 instance as WinVM2-C
- Motive of this lab is to have same D as of WinVM1-D with txt file in WinVM2, so what we can do is we can simply attach WinVM2-D drive to WinVM2
- Once attach you would able to see your txt file in WinVM2
- Magic of sanpshot and volumes 😀
- Now you can delete everything (WinVM1, WinVM2, WinVM1-D, WinVM2-D & snapshot)
