Taking snapshot of Compute Engine VM

Creating a Compute Engine VM
Add persistent disk to Compute Engine Instance
Go to Snapshot section
1. Click on Create Snapshot
2. Name: snapshot-disk-1
3. Source disk: disk-1 (we’re creating snapshot of additional disk created in step 2)
4. Click on Create
Delete the Disk 1
1. Go to VM instance section & Select the instance
2. Click on Edit
3. Scroll to Additional disks and delete disk-1
4. Click on Save
5. Go to Disks section
6. Select disk-1
7. Click on Action manual and delete the disk
Create Disk for Snapshot
1. Go to Disk section and click on Create Disk
2. Name: disk-from-snapshot
3. Disk source type: Snapshot
4. Source snapshot: snapshot-disk-1
5. Size: 10GB
6. Click Create
Attach Disk created for snapshot
1. Select the VM instance
2. Click on Edit
3. Scroll to Additional disks > Attach existing disk
4. Disk: select disk-from-snapshot
5. Click Done
6. Click Save
